Description
“Moonshadow” is a photograph of the moon and sun during the solar eclipse of September 2025: the white circle is the sun, the black is the moon.
I knew the eclipse was to occur just after sunrise, so I walked down the road to an east-facing view. At first it just looked like a normal sunrise, but as I photographed it I could see the eclipse begin. It was taken near the end of the eclipse, from my garden. The clouds had come in and, finally, I was able to witness the eclipse not just through my camera, but directly with my own eyes. It was a moment of magic, captured here in “Moonshadow”.
