Artist CV

Artist Statement

I am a visual artist working primarily in photography, alongside a regular painting and drawing practice. I find a sense of peace in te taiao – the natural world – and my work explores the beauty, wonder, and interconnectedness of nature.

My work responds to physical attributes, movement or behaviour, and the innate nature of my subject – infused with my own thoughts and feelings. I use creative techniques like Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) and multi-flash photography to add magic to the mundane. I also experiment with alternative printing processes including cyanotypes and chlorophyll prints.

My work has been recently exhibited at Hope and Sons Art Awards (2026), White Box/Dunedin Fringe Festival (2026), Photosynthesis (2026), Art Attic Gallery (2026), and Dunedin International Airport (2025). I regularly exhibit as a member of the Otago Art Society.

Current projects include a collection of paintings celebrating the joy of gardening, to be exhibited in a solo show at Colour + Light Gallery in Balclutha in spring 2026. I am also working towards an installation of wildlife photography at the South Canterbury Museum in Timaru.
