This year I applied for honours through the Photographic Society of New Zealand (PSNZ), and I was awarded with LPSNZ (Licentiate Honours).
Honours are an internationally recognised award that confirm a standard of photographic achievement , and Licentiate is the first level of distinction.
This is assessed by a portfolio submission of 10 images. It needed to show a diversity of subject, genre, lighting, techniques etc. but also have a sense of ‘flow’ from one image to the next.
It was a real challenge that pushed me to be more creative – and more intentional – in my photographic practice.
