NZ + AUS DELIVERY ONLY

Commissioning a painting of your pet is a meaningful way to honour their memory, or celebrate the joy they bring you every day – whether for yourself or as a thoughtful gift.
I am currently offering pet portraits with a simple background of your choice, painted in oil on canvas, in two sizes.
All portraits are painted by hand using traditionally crafted oil paints on 100% cotton canvas so your artwork will last for generations. Once dry, your painting is varnished to enhance the colours and protect it from dust & minor abrasions. It is then mounted to a wooden float frame, stained in a colour of your choice.
As a winter special, I am offering 50% off the next 5 orders. Offer ends 31 August 2026.
Please note that as I am painting with oils, the process of painting, drying, and varnishing can take up to 8 weeks (if you want one for a Christmas gift, you need to be scheduled to start by mid-October).

Koji – painted from a cropped reference photo, with an additional reference photo to assist with colours and bringing in extra ‘flair’ in the fur.

Reviews
“OMG he’s stunning! ❤️ It’s absolutely incredible, thank you, he is a very difficult subject with his dark shadowy face, you’ve captured that so well! Perfect expression of his eyes too.”
Want to commission a painting? Here’s the process:
1. Get in touch
Fill out the form below with details about your pet and preferred timeframe. Please note that as I paint with oils, I usually require two months for painting, drying, varnishing, and framing. If you have a specific due date in mind, please let me know and we can discuss options. Scroll up to see current waitlist.
2. Consultation
I’ll get in touch with you with any questions, and request 3-5 photos. Together, we’ll select one photo (possibly a cropped version) for the primary reference. I’ll use the additional photos to help me with colour and finer details.
3. Deposit
A 20% non-refundable deposit secures your booking and I’ll commence painting.
4. Painting & progress
I’ll start by drawing a basic outline on canvas & send this to you to make sure placement, pose, and size are what you want – this is your chance to make any changes! I’ll send you another photo to check colours, and again near the end of the painting where small tweaks can still be made. You can request more frequent progress photos if you like.
5. Completion and Delivery
I’ll send you a final photo for approval. When you’re happy with your painting, you’ll get a link for payment of the balance. The drying, varnishing, and framing can take up to 8 weeks. I will let you know when it is ready to ship. Your painting will be safely wrapped, packaged, and shipped via courier (either NZ Post or NZ Couriers).
Some things to consider…
- I work in a loose ‘painterly’ style and love vibrant colour. If you want a finely detailed, photo-realistic portrait then I may not be the right artist for you. Please see the gallery above to get a feel for the style you can expect.
- You’ll need to provide good quality photos of your pet. The better the photos, the better the painting! If the photos you supply were taken by someone else (e.g. a professional photographer) then I’ll need their permission, too.
- Yes, I can paint your rabbit/hamster/sheep/horse etc.
- Yes, buy now pay later is available. This is via Afterpay in 4x fortnightly payments (NZ + AUS customers only).
- Sizes and prices are quoted for one animal per painting. For multiple pets in one painting, please contact me.
- The special pricing ends 31 August 2026 – if you want to secure this price then get in touch today 🙂
