This is part of my ‘Wilted’ collection, an ongoing project where I photograph flowers beyond their prime but – to my eyes – so much more interesting & beautiful.
These flowers were gifted to me from a friend’s garden. We often swap gardening stories, especially of the friendly bees, birds, and butterflies that share our gardens. The artistic treatment of this bouquet, just starting to wilt, took inspiration from memento mori – a reminder that tomorrow is not guaranteed, and to make the most of life.
Printed in New Zealand on quality card with a matte finish.
