[UPCOMING] Solo Exhibition: Garden Paintings

Explore the garden through my eyes: vibrant, magical, and full of life. This solo painting exhibition at Colour + Light Gallery will celebrate the rural garden – and the wildlife that inhabit it – through expressive, colourful paintings.

The inspiration for this collection:

While my focus is photography, painting feels like coming home.

When we first moved south, one of the things I was most excited about was having my own garden. Over the first few years it started to take shape but after my second case of Covid-19 I didn’t fully recover, and the garden has reverted to a wild mess.

It’s taken a long time to accept that my health isn’t in a place where I can actively look after an acre of garden, but my garden has been – and continues to be – a place of joy, calm, and sanctuary.

And that’s why this painting collection was born. It’s grieving the garden I wanted, looking back on the moments of joy over the years, and celebrating what it still has to offer (I don’t like it this messy but the birds and insects are happy!).

About Colour + Light Gallery:

“My vision is to share our local talent in a dedicated space and for Colour + Light Gallery to be somewhere anyone who walks in feels like this is a place for them! I also want people to know that they can come to classes to get creative, try something new, nurture themselves or their children.

It’s somewhere that locals and visitors can come and see what’s on offer, fall in love with something (or more than one something!) and take it home. Somewhere, they can find things to add heart to their home or give someone they love a piece of amazingness!!”
